PMF 220 - Risk Management in Projects
Course Description
Risk management is a process used to identify, assess, and analyze potential risks to an organization or project. As projects become more complex, managing risk is a essential for successful project design.
Students are introduced to key components and practices of risk management as it relates to project delivery. Learn techniques that help identify project risks, and how to assess the impact of a specific risk to a project. Cover different approaches to developing risk mitigation plans that respond to potential risks identified as part of the project management implementation.

Advanced Project Management Diploma students who have completed BMC 345 Managing Risk in Projects will be credited 15 hours towards this course.
Course Details
By the completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
- Recognize risk management concepts and how to analyze and mitigate risks
- Analyze cross-functional capabilities and practices required for effective risk management based on current best practices
- Identify risks that impact new projects and track how these evolve during the project life cycle
- Use elements of risk and risk management techniques to create project management-related artifacts and documents based on current best practices
- Examine risk mitigation tools and practices that can be used to address a list of risks identified within a specific project based on current best practices
- Create a plan to mitigate or address a list of risks identified within a specific project using current risk management practices, mitigation tools, project management risk artifacts, templates
